MEDİKAR Medical Gas Systems was established in 1990 in Mersin. The company provides design, manufacturing, installation, service, maintenance, and consultancy services for centralized medical gas systems for hospitals.The founder, SEYFETTİN KARAKAŞ, graduated from METU Mechanical Engineering in 1981 and began his career as a technical manager for Medical Gas Systems at the American company OHIO Medical Products. In 1982, he managed the installation of centralized gas systems in hospitals in Saudi Arabia, and his international projects with foreign companies continued until 1990.
MEDİKAR started its operations in Turkey in 1990 in Mersin. During its first year, it collaborated with the British company Ohmeda to design and install the medical gas systems for Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. In its second year, it undertook the same tasks for Ankara Bayındır Medical Center.In 1992, it began producing medical gas outlets compliant with the British standard BS 5682 at a 300 m² workshop in the Mersin Small Industrial Estate with a 4-person team. By acquiring its first Universal Lathe in 1993, the company grew continuously, expanded its workforce to 25 employees, and officially became a corporation in 1995.
